Born under a lucky star on April 11, 2003, at 3:20 AM in Brașov, Romania, Rebeca-Maria Neacsu began a life that would soon be filled with music, passion, and remarkable artistic achievements.
Rebeca’s journey into the world of music began in 2006 when she joined the Unison Children’s Choir Brașov, under the direction of George Dumitrașcu and Cristian Lorand Fieraru. From her very first performances, her natural musical talent and stage presence were evident.
By 2008, she had won 1st Prize at the Unison Gala – Children of the Year and made her debut at Ceata lui Pițigoi in Galați, performing “Mother” by George Dumitrașcu.
In 2009 and 2010, her talent flourished further as she collected multiple awards across national and international festivals, including the Music for Kids Grand Trophy, the Music Champions League Trophy, and became a finalist at Mamaia Copiilor. She also began appearing regularly on Romanian television and held live recitals on various national channels. A standout moment during this period was performing with the Unison Choir at the Golden Hall of Musikverein in Vienna as part of the World Peace Choral Festival.
Rebeca captured national attention at just seven years old as a finalist in the first season of Romania’s Got Talent (ProTV), captivating audiences with emotional renditions of "Pie Jesu", "Ave Maria", and the "Intermezzo" from Cavalleria Rusticana.
In 2011, her voice reached international stages. She represented Romania on RAI Uno’s Ti Lascio Una Canzone in Rome, where she performed in duets with Ludovico Creti and shared the stage with opera legends Daniela Dessi and Joseph Calleja. That same year, she was invited to perform Ave Maria and Adeste Fideles in Assisi, Italy, on RAI Uno’s Frate Indovino.
In 2012, Rebeca performed Amazing Grace as a soloist during the International Children’s Day concert at Brașov Opera. The following year, she gracefully transitioned to jazz and pop music, reaching the semifinals of the televised talent show Kids Sing on Kanal D.
In 2015, she was invited to perform the Romanian National Anthem at the opening ceremony of the European Youth Winter Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Brașov.
Throughout 2014 and 2015, Rebeca continued earning accolades, winning the Junior Grand Prix at Euro Stars in Malta, and receiving the Big Trophy at both Crystal Stars Music and Music for Kids in Iași.
Demonstrating her multifaceted creativity, Rebeca also won 1st Prize in the My Town, Brașov Plastic Art Contest in 2015.
In June 2023, she graduated from the School of Arts & Crafts “Tiberiu Brediceanu” in Brașov, after five years of intensive training in Pop Music under the mentorship of Monica Ciocălău.
In 2022, Rebeca was accepted into the prestigious Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. Despite the rigors of academic life, she remained deeply committed to her passion for music.
In her first semester, she joined Crescent Hall Jamband, where she connected with like-minded musicians and performed for the hall community. With her band, Crescendo, she took part in inter-hall showcases like FUSE, gaining experience in a range of musical genres.
Later that year, Rebeca took a bold step into jazz by joining NTU CAC Jazz and Blues (JnB), a club dedicated to nurturing jazz musicianship. Here, she immersed herself in intensive practice sessions, further refining her vocal style and expression. As a featured soloist, Rebeca delivered standout performances at flagship events such as Campus Groove, Hourglass, and NTU Fest, where her band's set was met with enthusiastic acclaim.
Rebeca impressed audiences with her ability to interpret technically demanding jazz pieces, performing works like "Day by Day" by Samara Joy, "What Is This Thing Called Love" by Cole Porter (inspired by Sarah Vaughan), and "I Feel Foolish" by Caity Gyorgy, alongside renditions of beloved jazz standards.
Her leadership and musicality led her to serve as Vocals Section Leader of JnB, where she organized vocal workshops and mentored fellow singers.
Beyond the club stage, Rebeca’s voice became a staple at major NTU and public events. She was invited to perform at the Nanyang Alumni Awards, Professor Installation Ceremonies, IEEE Conferences at Marina Bay Sands, Graduation Balls, and numerous university and community events. Her commitment to music extended into charitable causes as well, including performances at events like the Toy Buffet, organized by Food From the Heart.
Rebeca’s artistic journey is one of evolution, resilience, and heartfelt expression. With classical training as her foundation, jazz as her passion, and a deep love for storytelling through song, she continues to grow as a performer and creative soul—ready to move hearts and bridge cultures wherever her voice may carry her.
